cheddar_cave2_smWhat:Cheese tasting and GMO Panel Discussion

When: Monday, June 17th 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Where: Congregational Church in South Glastonbury, corner of Main and High Streets, South Glastonbury, CT 06073

Cost: Free and open to the publicgmo-patent

Join local artisanal cheese maker Cato Corner Farm for a delicious and informative evening of cheese and conversation. Following the cheese tasting, there will be a panel discussion on the ethical, political, environmental & health concerns of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) and the labeling of GM food. If you’re curious and confused about the controversy surrounding GMOs and product labeling (and who isn’t?), this is the perfect evening for you.

The panel will be composed of local leaders who have been doing a lot of research and work around GMOs:

  • Ian Skoggard (Environmental Ministry Team of the Connecticut Conference)
  • Senator Cassano (Connecticut General Asembly)
  • Representative Srinivasan (Connecticut General Assembly)
  • Bill Duesing (Northeast Organic Farm Association Interstate Council)
  • Bob Burns (Farmer, Mill and Consumer lliance, Aiki Farms)
  • Dr. Roberta Kline, MD (Integrative Women’s Health)

This looks like a great evening! It’s on my calendar. If you’re in the Hartford area, hope to see you there.
